Renato Frey is a SNSF Eccellenza professor and head of Cognitive and Behavioral Decision Research at the University of Zurich, Department of Psychology. In his research, Frey uses modern statistical methods and data science to study how people make choices in the modern world full of risk and uncertainty.

He was a visiting scholar at BSPL from 2018-2019 where he conducted risk preference research.
