Congratulations to Kris Nichols! 

We’re excited to congratulate our very own Kris Nichols on being selected as one of the recipients of the 2026 Besample Dissertation Grant!

Kris was chosen through a highly competitive, two-stage review process recognizing projects for their novelty, theoretical contribution, methodological rigor, and potential to advance behavioral science beyond Western contexts. Kris will receive full funding and research support for his dissertation project. Using this funding, he will run a large-scale study in Argentina and Indonesia--studying social learning as a stabilizer of “concept drift." More specifically, he is interested in testing the following research question: Does exposure to others’ judgments curb prevalence‑induced boundary shifts in tight vs. loose cultures?
